AS A PRO-ACTIVE PARENT

Do you have any of these concerns?

My child seems a bit shy and needs to develop social confidence when out of our care.

These “Critical Years” are important for your child’s growth and it’s hard to find the right activity.

You’ve read all the parenting books but still need support to help your child be their best.

PARENTING PRE-K AND KINDERS HAS ITS CHALLENGES

You must balance their natural inquisitiveness and high energy with trying to teach them the basic skills they need for school and life.

Discipline, sharing, and self-control are all things they need to learn to be successful.

The ideal setting is one that’s got some structure but works with kids at their current developmental level. If they have fun while they’re learning, they’ll be more likely to retain those lessons and learn the skills they need.

GROWTH WITH EVERY CLASS!

Parents trust the safe environment that we provide to give their kids the foundational learning needed
during their early education. They see the life skills that we inspire such as focus, confidence and self-
discipline as impactful to their growth and future. Together, with parent support in classes, we cultivate a positive experience that builds pre-k & kinder’s self-esteem.

TEACHES KIDS TO BE SOCIALLY ASSERTIVE

Young children who learn martial arts manage their tantrums better. It encourages their social development in a safe place with supported parent participation.

Through activities that encourage respect and self-discipline, they will learn to believe in themselves and be more assertive when needed.

MARTIAL ARTS TEACHES KIDS TO POSITIVELY PROCESS EMOTIONS

Young kids can easily become frustrated when they don’t get what they want, but studying martial arts helps them learn the power of persistence.

The physical activity in our classes, with parents as their coach and support, also helps kids manage stress and anxiety by allowing them to burn it off in a safe and constructive way.

WOULD YOU LIKE YOUR CHILD TO LISTEN BETTER?

Martial arts instruction requires students to pursue goals to earn new belts. Young kids can easily become frustrated when they don’t get what they want, but studying martial arts helps them learn the power of persistence.

CONNECT WITH YOUR CHILD IN A SUPPORTIVE ENVIRONMENT

Parents are always looking for ways to help their child be their very best. They enjoy being a part of their development in our parent participation classes.

They feel confident with the support our team offers in teaching their child to be independent and resilient!

One martial arts is a well-known establishment in the community. The dojo itself is very organized and clean. It’s a great place for your kids to train, learn, and socialize with others. I tried out the excellent kids class with my 5 year old and it was engaging. The instructors definitely know what they are doing. Although my schedule doesn’t work with the current classes, I can definitely see my son here in the near future. Thank you One Martial Arts!

Very inclusive class teaching all the basics of being a good person discipline for my 3 year old. They are very invested in your child’s growth. When we miss classes because of sickness. We receive a postcard in the mailbox saying they miss us and hope to see us soon. It’s a very nice touch that shows they care that we are in class.

My son has been enjoying his classes here at One Martial Arts. The instructors make the curriculum age appropriate and fun for the kids and parents are also very actively involved, which makes it more engaging for the child as well. There is a good balance of both physical movement as well as teaching the kids the skills to be calm and more focused. These were all reasons why I wanted to enroll my son here as he generally has very chaotic energy and needs an activity that can allow him to burn off some of that energy while still learning the life lessons of good behavior and having discipline.

One Martial Arts is amazing. The staff here are amazing and provide stellar support. Initially when we started classes here we were under the assumption that this would be only for summer but my son has enjoyed his classes so much that we decided to go for a full year and longer. My son started off as being shy and could be full of energy, as any other 6 year old could be, but now he has learned much self control as well as more confidence and independence. He is excited to go to classes and even is upset when he misses a class. I am grateful for the life lessons being taught here. Important life values such as respect, responsibility, and much more. I am excited to see my son grow as he continues here with OMA.

My daughter started Excellent Kids here a few years ago and moved up to youth karate last year. She loves it! She has gained so much confidence and has learned so much respect toward others as well. The instructors are all terrific people and really put the time into helping their students learn and become the best at what they do. Highly recommend this school!

The entire staff is amazing! Everyone honestly cares for each child and teaches them the way they learn best. Both our boys love coming and adore all the instructors
My son had been attending for almost 1 yr.
although we have encountered some challenges with my sons ability to have constant focus in class the staff is always kind and patient. They are full of encouragement and a positive attitude. We love one martial arts and all the advice and life skills they have provided for our family.
BTW they also offer a FREE parent night once a month. Yes. You can eat dinner at a restaurant without your kids .. That alone is worth it.

I would definitely recommend One Martial Arts to anyone who has a child. Professor Beliso not only teaches martial arts, but also teaches life skills that our children need to protect themselves and to be better people in general. The classes teach children how to build their confidence, how to use manners, treat others with respect, and how to live their best life. My son is 4 years old and has been enrolled in their classes for about two months now. I can honestly say that this is one of the best decisions we have ever made. He is learning so much while being reinforced to try his best. The skills have translated in his home life as he is focused and disciplined in the house, always wanting to help out, while treating others with respect. If you are considering enrolling your child into a martial arts, One Martial Art would be the best choice and one of the best decisions you can make. I promise you will not regret it.

My son has been doing the Excellent Kids program for two months now and he absolutely loves it. The teachers are wonderful with the kids and I really like that they focus on both physical activity and respect/manners/discipline in the kids’ behavior. It has translated into an even better behaved kid at home.

Instructor Brannon is such a gem! He is so dedicated, focused and wise. We started the Excellent Kids 3-5, and both my husband and I even learn so much. It is a great parent child activity and it helps build in a focus for our family to continue to reinforce throughout the week! Highly recommend One Martial Arts for afterschool or weekend kids’ activities!

SEE HOW ONE MARTIAL ARTS COMPARES

Explore our comparison between martial arts and other early learner activities to see why martial arts could be a more beneficial and fulfilling choice for your child’s overall growth and development.

Pre-K & Kinder Activities
Less Emphasis on Personal Growth

Many early learner programs emphasize physical skills but often overlook a child’s emotional intelligence and character development—both essential for well-rounded growth.

Potential for Exclusion

Team play can sometimes lead to exclusion for less skilled children, which can be disheartening and impact their enthusiasm for physical activity.

Kids Can Get Overlooked

In team sports, individual attention from coaches can be limited, which may hinder the personal skill development and confidence of less naturally talented children.

One Martial Arts
Rooted in Life Skills Learning

No child is born with life skills like focus and confidence. The good news is that it can learned, practiced and made habit. This is the foundation of Excellent Kids.

Parent Support & Connection

Our early learners’ life skills and martial arts program is designed to connect with your child. This unique experience blends parenting and child development. Enjoy quality family time while shaping character lessons to match your family’s values.

FAQS

My child still has temper tantrums and I’m worried about how they’ll behave in school. Can studying martial arts help?

Yes, it can. We help children learn the importance of emotional control and respect for others. These are lessons that will help them in the classroom, too.

My child is out of control physically, and can be very destructive. How will studying martial arts help?

Martial arts instruction focuses on hand-eye coordination, control, and strength. As kids learn basic moves and then advance, they learn how to control their bodies and movements.

Will studying martial arts help my child learn how to interact with others and share?

Yes. Even though studying martial arts is an individual pursuit, we teach kids to learn in a collaborative environment with an emphasis on sharing, cooperation, and teamwork.

My child gives up easily when frustrated. I want them to learn persistence. Can your classes help?

Yes. It’s common for students to require more than one attempt to earn a new belt. We teach them that trying is the most important thing – and that persistence pays off.

My child zones out in class and misses important instructions. Can taking martial arts classes help them do a better job of focusing?

Yes. Part of martial arts training is teaching kids to be mindful of themselves and their surroundings. They must focus to succeed in class, and once they learn to do it, they’ll be able to do the same thing at school.

My child is disrespectful to me and to other caregivers. How can studying martial arts change that?

Respect is at the core of everything we do in the dojo. Kids who study martial arts must respect their instructors and fellow students, and we find that they learn to respect parents, teachers, caregivers, and siblings at the same time.
